The rumor has been circulating around the net without any confirmation. So the rumor is like this, Kim Chiu is said to be preparing with her girl group consisting of 7 members and they’re said to debut this year! But a representative from Star Magic said that whole rumor is not true.

Star Magic representative said: It’s not true. We don’t know where the issue comes from but again it’s not true!

Well, I’m kinda dissappointed. I’m not a big fan of Kim Chiu though, but i would to love see her in her own girl group. I mean c’mon this girl is popular she can dance, she can sing why not make money out of it! take her career into the next level…

First is Paano Na Kaya of Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu, followed by Miss You Like Crazy of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo (still showing) and now, Star Cinema’s third movie for the year 2010 is Babe, I Love You.

Star Cinema released the Music Video of the movie, Babe, I Love You performed by Piolo Pascual (this MV is for movie trailer only, Babe by Piolo have different MV).

Starring Anne Curtis and Sam Milby and will be shown in cinemas on April 3, 2010.

Sam Milby will be playing the role of a teacher who will eventually meet and fall for a model-promo girl played by Anne Curtis.

Last Sunday, after 13 years on air, SOP bid it’s last goodbye. In this Farewell Episdoe, they didn’t fail to sing their famous (S.O.P! Dito sa GMA!) SOP song. Amusingly enough, some of the lyrics were even revised! It’s on the 1:22 – 1:36. I suggest you check it out.

Everyone is aware that GMA7’s SOP has been struggling with the ratings for quite sometime. Because of this, the management have decided to axe SOP and replace it with Party Pilipinas instead. It will begin to air this March 21.

As the launch date of their album approaches, XLR8 used song teasers as a way of getting fans excited. This time around instead of those song teasers, we get to see the boys in the flesh. A group greeting, along with individual ones, has just been posted on their Fanpage. Hopefully with these fan greetings, fans will be able to relate and know more about them.

Another teaser, this time the dance choreography, was also posted. It’s pretty short but will no doubt intrigue fans even more.

A contest is also currently being held. To join this, all you have to do is do a dance cover of their carrier single, You’re So Hot. Doing the whole song isn’t necessary, the chorus of the song is enough. The reward? Well, none other than meeting them! Yes, the winners of the said contest will be able to meet the XLR8 boys in person. So join and post your entry on their Fanpage.

Doing a 30-second dance cover and getting to meet the boys as the reward? I’d say it’s a good bargain.

The 5th MYX Music Awards held last night, March 2, 2010, at the Music Museum didn’t turn out to be surprising at all as Sarah Geronimo ruled again for the third straight year.

With 4 Awards, Sarah Geronimo was the biggest winner during the event. She won as Favorite Artist, Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Remake and Favorite Media Soundtrack.

It’s now Sarah’s 3rd consecutive year to win the Favorite Artist and Favorite Female Artist awards and 2nd consecutive to bag the Favorite Remake award.

Also scoring big was Rico Blanco who won for himself Favorite Male Artist and Favorite MYX Live Performance while Kyla was honored with Favorite Mellow Video and Favorite Song.

Gloc9 also received two awards: Favorite Music Video and Favorite Urban Video.

In MYX Music Awards history, Rico Blanco is only the second artist to win as Favorite Male Artist. The first one was Erik Santos, who annually took home the awards from 2006 to 2009.

Taking home the Favorite Group award for the 3rd non-consecutive time was SpongeCola.

The late Francis M’s collaboration with Ely Buendia entitled “Higante” won for the Master Rapper a posthumous award as the song was announced as Favorite Collaboration.

We are all aware that SOP was recently axed. Because of this drastic change, girl group SH3, which composes of Ryza Cenon, LJ Reyes and Chynna Ortaleza, was one of the many which were affected. They will not be regulars of the replacement show, Party Pilipinas. That doesn’t mean the end of them, however. They will be coming back with changes in their group, including the name. And they are asking YOU to come up with suggestions for the groups new name. You can post your suggestion in their Fanpage.

Hopefully, a fan comes up with something good. It’d be nice if their new name isn’t as generic as SH3.

Well, good luck to this group – unfortunate, that they didn’t last that long. But Popsicles will be here on the look out for their comeback.

People are certainly excited about the newest boy group in the Philippine music scene, XLR8. With 1,200 + fans, and counting, in their Official Fanpage, these boys have surely piqued our interest. What more once they actually debut?

To tease the patiently waiting fans even more, pictures of their You’re So Hot MV shoot were recently posted in their Facebook Fanpage account.

The Music Video and Album will be launched sometime this March. After which, will be XLR8’s official debut.

Are those water guns I see? Will they be using those to put out the Fayah? A Fayah, they themselves have unintentionally created? Haha. Well, we’ll see once the MV is released.

PRIMO is an all-male filipino vocal trio composed of Jon Joven, Floyd Tena and James Uy from BellHaus Entertainment. The group sings crossover songs from classical – pop – power ballads – to rock in different languages.

Why PRIMO? The name could mean a lot of things. The name \pri-mo\ is of Italian origin, and its meaning is ‘first’, from the word ‘primus’. It is the first of its kind in the Philippines and Asia and aims to bring to the people the gift of beautiful music and harmony.

But who is PRIMO really?

These individuals come from different background, musically and personality-wise. In any group, the challenge is always put on how each one will harmonize and blend with each other given all the circumstances at hand. Since this group has been with each other for over a year now, brought together by the numerous shows here and abroad (yes, in just a short span of time, they’ve been to Spain, Prague, Czech Republic, Hongkong, Macau, USA, India, and many other places) and all the challenges that come with it, they have beautifully created one brand of harmony – the PRIMO sound.

PRIMO, often arranges their songs themselves, creatively bringing a genuine interpretation of the songs from the past to the music of today’s charts. Though they come from different background, surely, they are united in bringing good music to all of you.

Here are the members Profile:

Broadway singer Jon Joven has had extensive Broadway experience for the past 10 years. Joven was part of the “Miss Saigon” production in Germany where he played Thuy and “My Fair Lady” in the US where he played Freddy Einsford Hill. He was also part of the ensemble of the US productions of “South Pacific” and “West Side Story” in Wichita, Kansas. On local stage, he was part of “Himala” the musical where he played the principal role of Orly and “Noli Me Tangere” where he played Crisostomo Ibarra. He received the first Academy Special Citation for theatrical excellence from the Famas Awards in 2004 and was nominated Best Actor in a Musical Play (Noli Me Tangere) at the 2005 Aliw Awards.

Floyd Tena, a Bicolano, is a product of the Ateneo de Naga Music Ministry where he often sang as a soloist. Floyd is also a commercial model, having done print and TV ads for companies such as Smart, Eight O’ Clock and Rustan’s Fresh. He counts the Madrigal Singers, Bukas Palad, Himig Heswita, Basil Valdez and Andrea Bocelli as among his musical influences, and loves to discover beautiful music from unsigned artists.

James Uy is a fresh face to professional singing. The youngest member of Primo, he joined and landed the runner-up position in the Las Vegas Pinoy Pop Superstar singing competition. He discovered his passion for singing at 5, watching his older brother Jon Joven sing and perform Broadway classics.

For now PRIMO’s first Album is already Out entitled “Crossing Over”.

It is reported that their comeback movie after 3 years entitled Miss You Like Crazy earned an estimated amount of 18 million pesos during it’s first day of release in theaters.

The on screen couple, proved that they are still possessing the charms and acting prowess they’ve shown on their previous movies. The movie will soon have it’s international screenings on selected countries and U.S. states.

A few days ago, news have circulated that Beauty Queen/TV Host/Actress Ms. Ruffa Gutierrez would transfer to TV5, and after some days, the rumors are slowly turning into reality as Ruffa allegedly talk to the management of ABS-CBN about her possible transfer, and contract termination.

First it was GMA’s Paolo Bediones, and now It’s Ruffa Gutierrez. Looks like TV5’s offer is really tempting for some exclusive stars to transfer and work under their arms.

Some insiders were saying that Ruffa would be hosting a Sunday Showbiz Talkshow that would be the network’s answer to The Buzz and Showbiz Central.

Will Ruffa Gutierrez be a big help for TV5’s relaunching? or this was just because of her mom’s decision?
